We advise that pet rabbits are annually vaccinated against calicivirus. Calicivirus is regularly released by the government in order to quell wild rabbit populations. Therefore, if you rabbit spends time outdoors it can come into contact with the virus.
Calicivirus, or rabbit hemorrhagic disease, will develop in 75% of rabbits exposed and can cause very few symptoms until death.
Rabbits should be immunised against calicivirus at 10-12 weeks of age, and then every year following to boost their immunity.
